For those who are newer to the personality trait, Sensitive Processing Sensitivity (SPS) (more widely known as the highly sensitive person trait, as researched by Dr. Elaine Aron) here is a helpful list of some of the issues that widely affect individuals who could benefit from uncovering their sensitive power to replace their perceived weaknesses:

  6. Struggling with low self-compassion and negative self-talk.
  7. Challenges in friendships or relationships.
  8. Worsening health issues or chronic conditions.
  9. Trouble accessing inner strength and resilience.
  10. Heightened sensitivity presenting challenges.
  11. Low self-worth and confidence.
  12. Lack of self-love.
  13. Feeling knocked down by life’s stressors.
  14. Life lacking meaning or fulfillment.

Questions to Explore Before Investigating the Blooming Brilliantly Course

Before you take on a course on the highly sensitive person trait, it can be important to ask yourself some of the following questions to see if you’re a good fit. Take a moment to ask yourself the following questions and think through honestly if you struggle with any of these issues:

  1. When faced with mistakes or setbacks, what is your inner dialogue like? Do you offer yourself love and support, or do you tend to criticize and kick yourself while you’re down?
  2. Which approach do you believe will aid in developing tools to lift yourself back up after experiencing challenges? And conversely, which approach is more likely to keep you feeling knocked down and unable to move forward?
  3. Considering the concept that your capacity to love and receive love is linked to your self-love, how do you currently perceive and treat yourself?
  4. How does cultivating self-love grant you access to your inner reservoir of strength, resilience, and resources? And how does this empowerment enable you to uncover and share your unique gifts with the world?
  5. Envision the version of yourself you aspire to embody in the world. How do you wish to present yourself, and what characteristics would define this ideal version of you?
  6. Imagine a life where you are fully thriving and blossoming. What does this life look like, and how does it differ from your current reality?

If I’m honest, I still struggle with many of these questions. While I have many tools to help navigate my sensitivity, taking a course with other participants and being in community together can have a huge impact. I’ve seen it before my own eyes!
